House of the Dove by Compassus to Host Rededication Event in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD, Wisc. – House of the Dove by Compassus, an inpatient hospice serving Marshfield, Wisconsin, and the surrounding area, is hosting a rededication event on September 21 from 3-7 p.m. to commemorate the location resuming General Inpatient (GIP) hospice care and its return to full operational capacity to provide compassionate care to patients who need greater attention. The community and local media are encouraged to attend the ribbon cutting and learn more about the services Compassus offers at House of the Dove and in the broader community.

House of the Dove by Compassus provides high-quality, compassionate hospice care to improve the quality of life for patients with life-limiting illnesses. Those services include routine and GIP hospice care and respite care tailored to patients’ individualized needs.  

The primary focus of hospice care is to enhance the quality of life for patients in their final stages of illness, while also providing support and comfort to their families. While hospice care is available in different settings, including the patient’s own home, the choice of that setting depends on the patient and family’s preferences, as well as the required level of care and support.  

Some patients and families may opt for hospice care at a facility, such as House of the Dove by Compassus, to benefit from comprehensive symptom management, essential medical equipment, family support, caregiver respite and access to emergency care services.

WHO: The Marshfield community is encouraged to attend the event. The Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance, as well as community representatives. 

This event will feature informational booths for the community to learn about Compassus’ services at House of the Dove and in the wider community. The ribbon cutting will take place at 4 p.m., with snacks and refreshments available for attendees. 

House of the Dove by Compassus’ supportive care team, which includes physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains and volunteers, works together to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families. Each of its private suites offers a tranquil environment where patients are comforted from distressing symptoms and families receive emotional and spiritual support. The unit is open to visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
