Tulsa, OK โ Compassus is hosting its annual โNeed for a Mealโ event to ensure patients and families have a warm, festive Thanksgiving meal. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Compassus office located at 4612 S Harvard Ave Suite D, Tulsa, OK 74135.
This heartfelt initiative began three years ago, spearheaded by Compassus Tulsa, OK team members LaSoundra Reagor, a CNA, and Kristal Malveaux, a social worker, who recognized that some patients and families face unique challenges during the holidays. From limited financial means to spending the holiday alone, these challenges inspired LaSoundra and Kristal to create an event that uplifts and supports those in need.
Since then, Kristal Malveaux and Regina Marshall have worked diligently to expand the event, which now provides close to 50 Thanksgiving meals for patients and their families. Meals include ham, traditional Thanksgiving sides, and desserts lovingly prepared by Compassus colleagues and volunteers.
โThis event is about more than a meal. Itโs about compassion, community and ensuring that everyone feels cared for during the holidays,โ says Vesta Ridenour, Hospice Area Market Executive, Tulsa, OK. โWeโre grateful for the dedication of our team and the generosity of our volunteers, who help bring this effort to life each year.โ
