This year marks a significant milestone for Compassus in Jefferson City, MO, as our local hospice team celebrates 30 years of dedicated service to the community. Since its founding, Compassus Jefferson City has provided comfort, dignity and expert care to patients and families facing life-limiting illness.
For three decades, the Jefferson City program has been a trusted source of hospice and palliative care, offering in-home services, care in long-term care facilities, volunteer support, bereavement resources and community education. The team’s commitment to compassionate care has earned recognition from healthcare professionals, local leaders and the families they’ve served.
“Our team has always been focused on making each day as meaningful and comfortable as possible for our patients,” said Samantha Green, Area Clinical Director of Operations. “This anniversary is a celebration of the compassionate care our staff provides and the relationships we’ve built within the community.”
To commemorate the 30th anniversary, the Jefferson City and nearby Osage Beach locations hosted a series of special events throughout the month. These included a community open house and a “blessing of the hands” ceremony to honor the dedicated caregivers who serve patients with empathy and excellence.
“Our incredible caregivers are the heart of everything we do,” Green said. “We wouldn’t be where we are today without their dedication and the families who have entrusted us with their care.”
As the Compassus Jefferson City team looks to the future, the mission remains the same: to expand access to quality end-of-life care, raise awareness of hospice services and ensure patients continue to receive support with compassion and dignity.
“We’re excited for what lies ahead,” said Joan Couden, Regional Vice President. “Our goal is to continue being a beacon of comfort and hope in Jefferson City for the next 30 years and beyond.”
