BATON ROUGE, La. – The Compassus hospice program serving Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas will host a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Thursday, May 17, at the Compassus – Baton Rouge location. This free event is open to the public and will provide an overview of hospice including services, benefits, eligibility and coverage.
Office tours and staff meet and greets will occur immediately following the ribbon cutting during the celebration reception. Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Attendees can meet several new Compassus – Baton Rouge team members, including:
Leah Benoit, RN, executive director – As executive director, Benoit oversees operations and ensures the growth and success of the program.
Brittany Rodriguez, RN, BSN, director of clinical services – Rodriguez is responsible for directing and leading the interdisciplinary team including nurses, hospice aides, chaplains and social workers, to meet the needs of hospice patients and their families.
Stuart LeBas, MD – Dr. LeBas works hand-in-hand with a patient’s primary care physician and other medical professionals to develop a care plan. He provides clinical guidance to the program and oversees the protocol for pain and symptom management.
The Compassus – Baton Rouge program serves patients and families in Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Helena, St. Martin, Tangipahoa, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana parishes.
