NASHVILLE, Tennessee – Compassus, a nationwide network of community-based hospice programs and palliative care services, today announced it will acquire Hospice Advantage to create one of the largest providers of high-quality, community-based hospice and palliative care services in the country. The service area of the combined company, which will operate as Compassus, will extend to 150 locations in 28 states serving more than 30,000 patients and their families every year.
“The joining of Compassus and Hospice Advantage offers a compelling opportunity to build on the progress of each company to create a leading organization focused on the highest quality hospice, palliative and post-acute care services in the United States,” said Jim Deal, Compassus CEO.
Deal will lead the combined company, headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., and Hospice Advantage President Rod Hildebrant will join the Compassus executive team.
Hospice Advantage is a recognized leader in end-of-life care with locations in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin. Earlier this year, Compassus acquired Life Choice Hospice as part of a recapitalization, expanding the company’s services to 90 locations in 25 states. With the Hospice Advantage acquisition, Compassus will enter markets in three new states, including Indiana, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
“As Compassus continues to grow, it further strengthens our ability and desire to provide greater access to high-quality hospice and palliative care, serving patients, their families and the health care professionals serving them,” said Deal. “We look forward to working together to create the country’s leading post-acute care network dedicated to improving the continuum of care for seriously ill and end-of-life patients and their families.”
