New Orleans Recognizes Local Chaplain During Pastoral Care Week

The Compassus program serving New Orleans and the surrounding areas recognizes Chaplain Craig Cashio during Pastoral Care Week, October 22-28, 2017, for providing the highest level of spiritual care and guidance for hospice patients and their families. Cashio has been working at Compassus since June 2016.

“We are proud to recognize Craig’s tireless efforts to provide thoughtful, compassionate support and exceptional spiritual counseling to our patients and their families,” said Judy Bauer, executive director for Compassus – New Orleans. “Hospice chaplains offer spiritual support – directly or in collaboration with a patient’s or family’s own clergy or spiritual counselor – to provide a more meaningful end-of-life experience. Craig’s positive and caring attitude, exceptional ability to understand and comfort patients, and willingness to support colleagues make him an integral part of our Compassus team.”

Regardless of spiritual, religious or cultural background, Pastoral Care Week celebrates those who provide spiritual support to those receiving hospice or palliative care wherever they call home and in many other settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities and nursing homes.

Compassus – New Orleans will recognize local pastoral care providers next week by presenting them with framed certificates of appreciation for their dedication to the patients and families they serve.
