Hospice Admissions Coordinator, Christina Boston, in Muskogee, OK, shares her personal journey and the passion that drives her to make a difference every day in her role at Compassus.ย
Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in hospice care?
A: My mother was sick in April of 2016. She had cancer, and the last few weeks of her life got really rough. I decided that it was time to sign her up for hospice. My mother was a RN and I worked with her throughout my career in the medical field. She was my biggest supporter and my best friend. I had a great hospice nurse that took care of her and the aides were excellent as well.ย ย
Q: What was going through your mind when you decided to sign your mother up for hospice care?ย
A: It was scary for me. I had interactions with hospice working in nursing homes and I was truly scared. I knew that meant it was close to her life ending.ย
Q: What made you feel that Compassus was the right place for you after your motherโs hospice experience?ย
A: When the opportunity came for me to apply here at Compassus, I felt in my heart that my mom was pulling me to Compassus. And I have been happy ever since.ย
