COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Compassus hospice program serving Columbia, Jefferson City, Macon and Osage Beach was named Program of the Year at a recent awards ceremony during a Compassus National Leadership Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. The program, known as JefCo, tied with a sister program in Bullhead City, Arizona, for this year’s top company honor.
The JefCo program outperformed more than 94 other Compassus programs throughout the U.S. in six Pillars of Success evaluation categories that include regulatory compliance, colleagues and culture, quality care, service excellence, expanding access to services and fiscal responsibility.
Compassus established its Pillars of Success to give the company’s community-based programs a common service vision based on measurable goals that continually lead to improving the quality of care for patients and their families.
“This honor is a credit to the outstanding leadership and tireless work of all members of the Compassus – Columbia team,” said Paul Tatum, M.D., who serves as the program’s medical director. “We are gratified by this affirmation of our continuous efforts to meet the medical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families through the delivery of superior quality end-of-life care.”
“Compassus, which is one of the largest post-acute providers in the U.S., continues to set the standard of excellence not only for our sister programs but for all providers of hospice, palliative and home health care,” said Mandy Lawrence, executive director of the Compassus – Columbia location. “I am exceptionally proud of the positive impact our colleagues make every day in the lives of our patients and families.”
