TULLAHOMA, Tenn. – Beth Waller, an advanced practice nurse for the Compassus program serving Tullahoma, recently achieved designation as an Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (ACHPN). Waller joins a select group of less than 1,700 nurses in the United States to have achieved this certification.
The ACHPN examination is designed for experienced hospice and palliative advanced practice registered nurses. Applicants must hold a masters, postgraduate or doctoral degree from an advanced practice nursing program that includes both didactic and clinical components, and hold a current, unrestricted registered nurse license in the United States or Canada.
“I am honored and grateful to Compassus for encouraging me to pursue this certification,” said Waller. “To provide the highest level hospice and palliative care to our patients, it’s imperative we continue to challenge ourselves and our peers to stay engaged with industry standards and developments. I am fortunate to be part of a team that values professional development and understands its impact on quality of care.”
Waller has more than 16 years of experience as a registered nurse. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Middle Tennessee State University and master’s in nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
