BATON ROUGE, La. – Compassus, a nationwide network of community-based hospice programs and palliative care services, today announced the addition of Stuart LeBas, M.D., as medical director for the program serving Baton Rouge and the surrounding communities.
In this role, LeBas will be responsible for providing quality medical care to patients, working with their physicians to develop care plans that meet their specific needs. He will oversee the entire hospice care team, as well as the protocol for pain and symptom management.

LeBas serves as a critical care physician at Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group. He earned his degree in medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport where he also performed his internship and residency in internal medicine and trained for his fellowships in both pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine.
LeBas is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.
