Pets, Smiles, and Joy in Wausau: A Special Day at Rennes Health & Rehab Center
The Compassus hospice program serving Wausau recently brought smiles and joy to the residents of Rennes Health & Rehab Center-Weston by organizing a special event—a petting zoo filled with bunnies, chickens, ducks, goats, and even a mini pony! This delightful experience was made possible with the help of Grampa’s Farm LLC, whose furry and feathered friends brought immense happiness to everyone who attended.
At Compassus, we believe in our ‘Care for Who I Am’ philosophy, which means we strive to meet the unique needs and desires of everyone we care for. Events like this petting zoo are a perfect example of how we go beyond traditional care to enhance the quality of life for our patients. The joy on the residents’ faces as they interacted with the animals was truly priceless, reminding us of all of the simple, yet profound, pleasures that make life meaningful.
The laughter, the smiles, and the shared moments of connection during this event reflect the heart of our mission—caring for the whole person, not just their medical needs. We are grateful for the opportunity to create such memorable experiences for the residents and are committed to continuing to bring comfort and joy to those we serve.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special, and to the residents of Rennes Health & Rehab Center-Weston for welcoming us with open arms and open hearts.
