Fulfilling Dreams in West Branch, Michigan

At Compassus, we are committed to providing compassionate care and support to our patients, and sometimes, this extends beyond medical care. Recently, the Compassus hospice program serving West Branch, Michigan, had the honor of making a dream a reality for one of our patients, Jana, a 26-year-old with a heart full of aspirations.

Jana’s Dreams

Jana had a bucket list of experiences she wanted to achieve, a list that grew as she dreamed of the many things she hoped to experience. Over the years, her medical condition made it difficult for her to interact with friends, and she became more reserved. However, after joining our hospice services, Jana began to open up, particularly during her visits with Chaplain Karen. Through their conversations, Jana shared her love for bowling and arcade games—activities she didn’t get to enjoy anymore.

A Special Request

Chaplain Karen, touched by Jana’s story, spoke with her parents about Jana’s love for bowling and arcade games. Jana’s mother disclosed that Jana had always wanted to ride in a limo—another dream on her bucket list. Chaplain Karen found this to be a perfect combination to present to the Hospice Angels ‘Wish With Me’ program.

A Day to Remember

With the support of the Hospice Angels Foundation, a limo was arranged to pick up Jana and her parents in West Branch, MI. The limo then traveled to Saginaw, MI, to pick up a few additional family members. The family of nine enjoyed a wonderful day together, complete with lunch, bowling, and arcade games before the limo returned them all home, happy and with wonderful memories to cherish. It was a beautiful day filled with joy and laughter, and Jana was able to check another experience off her bucket list.
