A Day at the Barnyard: Compassus Brings Joy to Troy Residents

Care moment

Earlier this month, the Compassus hospice program serving Troy, Alabama, and surrounding communities, in collaboration with Troy Health & Rehab and Troy Regional Medical Center, organized a heartwarming event for the residents at Troy Health and Rehab. This special activity brought a Barnyard Petting Zoo to the residents, featuring a delightful variety of farm animals. The excitement and joy were palpable as the residents had the opportunity to interact with and feed the animals.

For many residents, the chance to be close to animals brought back fond memories of their past, rekindling a sense of joy and connection. The barnyard was filled with laughter, bright smiles, and a sense of camaraderie as residents shared their experiences and engaged with the animals. From feeding goats to petting rabbits, each interaction was met with enthusiasm and warmth, creating an unforgettable day for everyone involved.

This event is a shining example of Team Troy’s dedication to our ‘Care for Who I Am’ philosophy. By bringing meaningful and engaging activities to our residents, we strive to transform lives and provide person-centered care delivered where people live. The event also highlighted our vision of being the most valued partner for person-centered care, ensuring that everyone’s unique needs and preferences are met with compassion and respect.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Troy Health & Rehab and Troy Regional Medical Center for their support and collaboration in making this dream day a reality. Their efforts helped bring immense joy and comfort to the residents, reflecting the true spirit of community and care.
