Care Moment: Sandy’s Journey to Independence
After recently relocating with her daughter Laura to a one-level senior living apartment, Sandra ‘Sandy’ Larrison is experiencing a beautiful transformation, thanks to the personalized home health care services provided by our Ascension at Home Together with Compassus program in Evansville, Indiana.
Adjusting to her new home, Sandy is not only settling in; she’s flourishing. With the help of our home health services, her sense of independence is blossoming. Sandy has taken significant strides in her daily activities, which now include washing dishes and taking more frequent walks—activities that were challenging and at time non-existent before.
Her daughter Laura shares her excitement: “Mom is moving around her new apartment like a new person. She’s walking further than she has in years, flying around her apartment like she did 20 years ago. She’s even doing dishes! She hasn’t done dishes in years, so I took a picture of her, and she turned around with a smile and said, ‘I’m doing dishes!’ It’s such a joy to see.”
Our team in Evansville has been instrumental in providing an improved living environment for Sandy. This includes a better bathroom setup with a secure shower chair, making her feel more confident and safer.
We are incredibly proud of the entire Evansville team for living our mission to advance well-being and honor quality of life. Their commitment to our ‘Care for Who I Am’ philosophy shines through in stories like Sandy’s.
Thank you, Laura, and Sandy, for allowing us to be your trusted home health caregivers. It’s an honor to be part of your journey and to see you thrive!
