General inpatient hospice care provides round-the-clock treatment for complex symptoms that cannot be managed at home. Our team arranges for safe transportation and intensive care to stabilize patients while fully supporting families and loved ones.
A stay on our inpatient unit is generally short-term, with most people wishing to return to the comfort of home. Sometimes patients may be too unstable to return home. Our inpatient room can be a place of safety and solace for families during the final stage of life.
Our inpatient rooms offer a tranquil environment where patients are comforted, and families receive emotional and spiritual support. Care is provided by doctors, nurses, social workers and chaplains with specialized training in end-of-life care. The unit is open to visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Inpatient care is part of the Hospice Benefit
Qualified short-term inpatient care is part of Medicare, Medicaid and Veterans benefits. Some private insurance plans also pay for care. Medical equipment, medications and medical related to the hospice diagnosis are part of coverage during a qualifying inpatient stay.
Respite Care
We know caregiving at home can be difficult. Respite care is a temporary inpatient hospice stay so family caregivers have much needed rest or time away for an important life event. Our goal is to enable patients to return to the comfort and independence of home hospice care.
