What are the benefits of telehealth?

  • Telehealth offers a glimpse into social determinants of health that clinicians need to
address to support the patient’s overall physical, emotional, spiritual and environmental well-being.
  • Compassus’ telehealth technology provider is SOC2 certified, which is a voluntary compliance
standard specifying how companies should manage customer data. The certification report is
based on Trust Services Criteria of security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.
  • Telehealth can provide frequent touchpoints with patients to help identify needs for medical intervention and adherence to the care plan. This approach can benefit patients with chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Our goal is to help individuals be advocates for their healthcare and stay at home as much as possible.

Telemedicine is a provider led visit through remote modalities that is focused on physical assessment, new diagnosis and medication prescribing. Compassus Telehealth, or virtual care, is a nursing led modality focused on teaching and training as well as daily interaction with the virtual team.

There are specific payors and diagnosis’ eligible for telehealth services, please ask your provider or home health agency if you are a candidate.

Once an individual is eligible they will receive monitoring equipment, only while on home health nursing services, that includes a tablet and vital sign equipment. Through the tablet and telephonically, they will interact with the centralized telehealth team who are monitoring their daily vitals and survey answers. They will also have scheduled nursing virtual visits through the tablet with their assigned nurse. The telehealth team is a  partner to the home health team and work collaboratively with all disciplines as well as your physician to manage your symptoms and help you stay out of the hospital.
