Honoring Our Veterans with Compassion and Service
On October 26, 2024, a group of Compassus team members volunteered at the New Orleans Veterans Medical Center for the annual “Stand Down for Homeless Veterans” event, an initiative held across the U.S. to support veterans in need. More than 150 veterans received essentials like new clothing, boots, food and housing resources, thanks to the commitment of Compassus staff and volunteers.Â
Compassus teammates spent time with individual veterans, sharing lunch and companionship, and honoring their service. Seven Compassus employees, along with the daughter of a Compassus ACO and three Compassus volunteers – two of whom are veterans themselves – came together for this meaningful day.Â
As a Level 4 partner in the “We Honor Veterans” program, Compassus is striving to achieve Level 5, furthering their commitment to honoring those who served. For one Compassus volunteer, this marked the second year of participation, leaving them with a renewed sense of gratitude and a warm heart, inspired to recruit even more colleagues next year. The experience underscored Compassus’ dedication to compassionate care and the lasting impact of small acts of kindness for those who have given so much.Â
