Honoring the Life of Jeffrey A. Tomczak: Veteran, Firefighter, and Family Man

Jeffrey A. Tomczak

We were honored to care for Jeffrey A. Tomczak, a beloved hospice patient from our Fort Washington, Pennsylvania program, at Compassus, who passed away at 44 after a courageous battle with occupational cancer. A devoted husband to Brittnay and father to Matthew (14) and Connor (10), Jeff’s legacy as a veteran and firefighter continues to inspire.

Throughout his journey, our team provided compassionate support, helping Jeff and his family create lasting memories, including a sand art project symbolizing their cherished Avalon beach. To preserve Jeff’s love for his children, our team also crafted memory bears with recorded messages in Jeff’s voice, offering Matthew and Connor comfort in the years to come.

Jeff’s life of service began at 16 as a junior firefighter and continued through his distinguished career, serving as Fire Marshal for the Allentown Fire Department and beyond. His unwavering dedication to protecting his community was evident until the very end.

We are grateful to the Tomczak family for entrusting us with Jeff’s care and for allowing us to share in celebrating his life. Our team remains committed to supporting them, offering bereavement care for up to 13 months after their loss.
