YUMA, Ariz. – The Compassus program serving Yuma and the surrounding areas recognizes the exceptional work of nurses and hospitals in the community during National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week May 6-12, 2018.
“These observances give us the opportunity to express our appreciation for the dedicated health care professionals in our community and the compassionate care and support they provide patients and families,” said Amberly Davis-Owens, executive director for Compassus – Yuma. “We recognize the diligent efforts of our nurses and valued partners in care at local hospitals. We are thankful to collaborate with them to ensure all patients facing serious or life-limiting illnesses receive the highest quality care.”
Preeminent hospice care begins with a dedicated team of caregivers working hand in hand to develop a care plan to meet patients’ unique needs. Nurses and hospital staff members are important patient advocates who not only manage pain, arrange medication and equipment and visit patients often, but also help educate patients and their families of their treatment options to ensure they receive the right care at the right time.
“We are honored to partner with local health care providers in an effort to help patients make difficult choices while delivering superlative care,” said Ron Brooksher, M.D., medical director for Compassus – Yuma. “Our quality services depend on the tireless efforts of our devoted partners and we thank them for their continued service to our community.”
