OSCEOLA, Mo. – The Compassus program serving Osceola and the surrounding areas has been named a 2018 Hospice Honors Elite recipient by HEALTHCAREfirst, a provider of home health and hospice software, billing and coding services, Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) surveys and advanced analytics.
Compassus – Osceola is one of only 71 programs across the nation to achieve Elite Honors status, the highest level of recognition for quality care in the Hospice Honors program.
Hospice Honors is an annual review program that recognizes hospice programs providing the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view by CAHPS survey performance. Hospice Honors Elite recipients recognize hospices scoring above the HEALTHCAREfirst National Performance Score in all areas.

Award recipients were judged on 24 quality indicator measures resulting from CAHPS Hospice surveys rating hospice care experiences during an evaluation period of October 2016 through September 2017. Performance scores were aggregated from all completed surveys and were compared on a question-by-question basis to a National Performance Score calculated from all partnering hospices contained in the HEALTHCAREfirst’s Hospice CAHPS database.
Compassus – Osceola scored above the HEALTHCAREfirst National Performance Score on all 24 of the evaluated questions, earning it the 2018 Hospice Honors Elite title.
